Dr. Jones, your Boscobel chiropractor, answers the common question, “How does chiropractic work?”
Our brain controls everything in our body. The spinal cord exits our brain and travels down through our spine. Each nerve then exits between each bone (vertebrae) in our highly mobile spine. When these bones (vertebrae) stop moving, get stuck or shift out of alignment, swelling occurs and commonly will apply pressure to the nerve that is exiting there. This causing a reduction of that nerve functioning. The brain senses that and sends a signal back to that area telling the muscles to tighten/stiffen/spasm.
Chiropractors find these areas and remove/reduce the subluxation with very specific adjustments delivered to the spine. Once this occurs, the spine functions better, reducing the swelling, taking pressure off the nerve, relaxing the muscles and you feeling better!
